In all epochs human beings created models for themselves, models which are perfect, models one aspires to be like them. 

This has great influence on the interests and activities of our life.  For example if the model for  femininity is skinny (like the barby doll) and everyone agrees that this is beautiful and beauty is THE mayor value for a woman, then every woman wants to to be beautiful, so the average woman will use much of her energy to be skinny.  Even whole industries could develop in society around the issue of being skinny.

This website seeks to investigate what  a powerful goddess as a model for women is like.

In the bronze age in the Religions of the Ancient Near East  a goddess is worshipped by the people. In reality they worshipped many different goddesses but a main one, one which was the main deity in the religions. She was the mother of the gods and the spiritual mother of the rulers. Sometimes she was even the goddess of the sun. Every important action had to be consulted and aproved by her.  

The names of the goddess ist slightly different in the Levant, Anatolia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Crete, Mycenae and ancient Greece.  Nevertheless there is so much similarity that it is possible to speak of THE GODDESS.
